Aidet Cacique is from Guanajuato, Mexico, where she earned an Accounting degree and a MBA from the University of Guanajuato.  Aidet moved to Austin in 2004 to join her husband. She is the mother of two kids. She has been involved in all her kids’ activities and she has seen the need of both languages in daily life. Aidet enjoys helping do translation and interpretation for her kids’ schools. With the desire to be more prepared and to help others, she registered and took classes at Austin Community College to certify as a Translator and Interpreter in 2013 and 2014 and joined the Austin Language Justice Collective in 2015. In her free time, she likes to do outdoor activities with her family and her lovely border collie dog “Chiquis” and visiting new places.
